James Martin, 44, Arrested For The Murder Of Robert Smith, 40

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, May 05, 2021, at approximately 2145 hours, in front of 658 Dawson Street, within the confines of the 41st Precinct in the Bronx, an unidentified individual discharged a firearm multiple times, striking a 40-year-old male victim in the head and back.

The unidentified individual was last seen fleeing on foot northbound on Prospect Avenue toward the vicinity of the John Adams Houses on Tinton Avenue.

EMS transported the 40-year-old male victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where he was pronounced deceased.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

The investigation remains ongoing.
