There are a few ways to do this. You could write down your Wi-Fi password and keep it in a safe place. You could also create a Wi-Fi QR code.
What is a Wi-Fi QR Code?
QR codes are a type of barcode that can be read by any app or camera designed for them. A Wi-Fi QR code generator creates a QR code that contains the credentials for a device to connect to your Wi-Fi network without having to enter any information manually. This is perfect for coffee shops, restaurants, offices, Airbnbs, and more.
With QRStuff’s free Wi-Fi QR code generator, you can customize your code’s style and color and have it printed on the medium of your choice.
How to create your WIFI QR Code
Step 1
You can easily generate your own free Wi-Fi QR code at https://www.qrstuff.com/type/wifi.
In the User Guide, select your “SSID” under “Code Content.” This service net identifier or SSID is the unique name you use to access your network to browse the internet. In Windows and iOS, when you click on the Wi-Fi button, a list of available networks is displayed. The name of the network you use appears at the top. Enter this SSID name into the SSID field.
You can choose to keep the SSID visible or hide it from view.
You can also choose your password and select the type of security that your network is on.
Step 2
Under “Code Content”, enter the URL to your webpage or website that you want your QR code to link.
Click on “Next Step.”
Step 3
Create a custom look and feel for your QR code. Please note that this styling option is available only to paid subscribers.
You have several shapes, colors, and logos to choose from.
For example, you can choose one of the module shapes or go in for the eye ball shape. You have several preset colors for the foreground and background. You can also set your custom logo to appear at the center of the generated Wi-Fi QR code.
Click on “Next Step.”
Step 4
Here, you can set the image format. In other words, you can decide whether you want a PDF, PNG, SVG, DXF, or EPS file format for the image. You can also decide on the size and resolution of your image. Set one of the four error correction levels (7 -30%) of your choice.
Click on “Next Step.”
Step 5
Tracking and analytics is another feature that paid subscribers can access. Link the QR code to your Google campaign.
First, give your Wi-Fi QR code a name. This will appear on the dashboard once you complete the creation process. You can also categorize all your QR codes into different projects. That way, whenever you create a new QR code, it can be in a category of your choice.
Choose between static and dynamic encoding options. You can embed the static code as it is on your webpage. If you choose the dynamic encoding option, you can edit or change your target links by using QRStuff’s inbuilt URL shortener. This is especially useful when you need to generate analytics reports.
When you have finished with these settings, click on “Download” to begin downloading your Wi-Fi QR code to your computer.
