Help Identify An Assault Suspect

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the unidentified individual, depicted in the attached surveillance video clip, wanted in connection to an unprovoked assault, which occurred within the confines of the 44th Precinct in the Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at approximately 0200 hours, at the intersection of Gerard Avenue and E. 158th Street, the victim, a 60-year-old male, was walking on the sidewalk at the location, when he was approached by an unidentified individual.

The unidentified individual struck the victim in the head with a metal cane, unprovoked, causing lacerations to the head.

The unidentified individual fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln in stable condition.

A surveillance video clip of the suspect is attached and available at DCPI.
