The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of an unidentified male, who was last seen driving in the vehicle in the attached surveillance photographs, who is sought in connection with an assault, that occurred within the confines of the 49th Precinct in the Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at approximately 1630 hours, in front of 1243 E. Tremont Avenue, the victim, a 60-year-old female, was walking on the sidewalk at the location, when she was approached from behind by an unidentified male, who tapped her on the shoulder. When the victim turned, the unidentified male produced a sharp cutting instrument and slashed the victim’s face across the forehead and eyes, unprovoked, and made no verbal statements.

The unidentified male then fled westbound on East Tremont Avenue in a gray Honda Civic with a dent on the passenger side of the front end of the vehicle with an unknown license plate.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi for treatment.

The unidentified male is described as male, Black, approximately 5’6″ tall, weighing 160 lbs.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 21-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged on February 21, 2021.
