The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the unidentified male, who is seen in the attached surveillance video clip and photograph and is sought in connection with an assault, which occurred within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, August 05, 2020, at approximately 2233 hours, the victim, a 25-year-old male taxi driver, picked up an unidentified male street-hail in the vicinity of Jerome Avenue and W. 184th Street.

A verbal dispute ensued as the victim drove the unidentified male to his destination. The dispute became physical when the unidentified male, who was in the back seat, punched the victim as he was driving. The victim stopped his taxi in front of 40 W. Mosholu Parkway South, and the victim and unidentified male exited the vehicle. The unidentified male produced a box cutter and slashed the victim to the left side of his face.

The unidentified male fled on foot.

EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he underwent surgery, in stable condition.
