Help Identify A Hit-And-Run Suspect

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the vehicle and operator, depicted in the attached surveillance video clip, sought in connection with leaving the scene of a collision, that resulted in injury, within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Monday, December 07, 2020, at approximately 1810 hours, at the intersection of Burnside Avenue and Jerome Avenue, a 48-year-old female victim was crossing Jerome Avenue, from west to east, in the marked crosswalk with the light in her favor, when an unidentified individual, operating a dark colored Dodge Caliber sedan, turned right from East Burnside Avenue onto northbound Jerome Avenue, striking the victim, knocking her to the pavement.

The unidentified individual, operating the vehicle, proceeded to run over the victim before fleeing the scene northbound on Jerome Avenue.

The victim sustained severe trauma to the leg and was transported by EMS in stable condition to St. Barnabas Hospital.

The vehicle being sought is described as a dark colored Dodge Caliber sedan with tinted windows, black rims, a dent on the front passenger side fender, with small stickers, located on the right and left top of the rear windshield and on the passenger side window vent. At the time of the incident the vehicle had one rear license plate affixed to it.

A surveillance video clip of the suspect’s vehicle is attached and available at DCPI.
