After missing the entire 2013 season with a torn hip labrum, Giants’ guard Chris Snee said on SiriusXM Radio that he is open to taking a paycut to keep his position on the team.
Chris said that his rehab has been making very steady process and that his hip is just fine.
This 2014 season Snee is expected to make around $6.75M along with a staggering, $11.3M cap hit. However, talks of a cut from his salary has yet to be informed. His large contract may not even consider a restructure and instead, send him straight to free agency.
“I never complained about wanting to make more money. I’ve always restructured.” Snee said. “The important thing is to be a part of a winning team. My role is to take a pay cut and to help bring in guys who can benefit to this team.”
Snee has not been informed yet on a pay cut being established but admits that he does not even know the business side of it.
“I’ve always kind of stayed out of the business part of it.” Snee said. “I’m sort of confused by the whole process, to be honest with you.”
