There are several ways Bronx residents can receive free tax prep help, here are some of the upcoming programs:
Ridgewood Savings Bank, 3445 Jerome Avenue, is hosting ARIVA’s free Tax Preparation Day on Saturday, February 2, 2013, from 9:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bronx residents are eligible for free tax filing if they are single with no dependents and earn less than $25,000 or file with dependents and earn less than $50,000. University Neighborhood Housing Program and The Refuge House, 2715 Bainbridge Avenue, will host free tax filing which is available from January 23, 2013 to April 10, 2013 on select Wednesdays 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (no walk-ins) for individuals and families whose gross income in 2012 was less than $56,000 with dependents, or $25,000 without dependents. The Bronx Library Center, 310 E. Kingsbridge Road. 718-579-4244, and the Grand Concourse Library, 155 E. 173rd St. 718-583-6611, are assisting with filing taxes, free, for those who qualify, from January 30, 2013 through April 15, 2013.
