Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson says a minister pleaded guilty to raping two teenage girls, one of whom belonged to his former congregation.

The Rev. Michael Clare was convicted of rape Wednesday. Under the terms of the plea deal, he will be sentenced to 5 years in prison and will register as a sex offender.

Clare admitted to the acts with a 13-year-old girl in 2007 at his home, and later with a 14-year-old. He was the former pastor of the Harvest Worship Center International.

Johnson said in a statement that the victims’ wishes were taken into effect when considering the plea deal.

Clare, a resident of Jamaica, is facing deportation.
