The hunt continued Thursday for the person behind the deadly stabbing of an elderly woman inside her home in the Bronx. As Magee Hickey reports, the woman spent her life trying to keep her neighborhood safe.
Neighbors said 70-year-old Ethal Parish was a really well-known and well-liked resident of the Murphy Houses. For decades, they said she worked on the tenant patrol, checking who came in and out of her building.
When she didn’t come to work Wednesday, police said a relative went to her apartment and found her unconscious in her kitchen with several stab wounds to her back.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
