helpNYC issued its first guidance document this past September providing guidance on how homeless New Yorkers can file a claim to receive their March 2020 CARES ACT Economic Impact Payment (EIP).
This document, in partnership with several community organizations and government agencies, was created to provide New Yorkers and their service providers with detailed, accurate information that was easy to understand and act on. The helpNYC Team has received a lot of feedback on how helpful the document was, and we are truly grateful we could help.
The United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a news release (IR-2020-229 dated October 05, 2020) that announced the deadline to file a claim was extended to November 21, 2020 for people who normally do not file a tax return.
