A New York man arrested for distributing heroin January 8, 2014 reportedly told police he was simply lost and if he were a drug dealer, he would have a lot more money. Geison Feliz, 39, of 2316 Loring Place, Bronx, NY, arrested on Highland Avenue in Somerville, MA on charges of possessing a drug to distribute and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

While police were watching Walnut Street and Grandview Avenue as part of a narcotics investigation around 3:04 p.m., a gray Chrysler Pacifica van registered to an address in Lynn reportedly arrived on Pleasant Street near Walnut Street.

Rather than getting out, the driver reportedly waited until a young man approached from Vinal Avenue and got in. The car reportedly drove about three houses down to the intersection of Pleasant Street and Vinal Avenue, and the young man reportedly got out and got into a black car.

The two cars reportedly headed in different directions. Stopped by police on Walnut Street, the Chrysler van reportedly started to drive away, but was stopped again. The driver, Feliz, had an open case for distribution of a class A drug and had gone more than 30 days as a Massachusetts resident without getting a Massachusetts driver’s license.

Feliz reportedly said he was lost and denied stopping to meet with anyone or having anyone in his vehicle. Feliz reportedly had $60 in the center console and a GPS on the front passenger seat, along with two cell phones that reportedly kept ringing. A detective reportedly answered the phone more than once and spoke with callers who referred to meet locations and expected time of arrivals.

As Somerville K-9 Xando searched the car, Feliz reportedly said, “If I was a drug dealer, I would have a lot of money because I would be making stops all day.”

Xando reportedly detected the scent of narcotics in the passenger seat and center console. A small zip lock bag was reportedly found under a floor board in the back seat, containing a green, leafy substance thought to be heroin. There was also reportedly a napkin and clear plastic bag hidden inside the roof above the driver’s seat, containing 13 plastic bags with brownish powder thought to be heroin.

Feliz was reportedly recognized from an arrest in Everett for distributing heroin to an undercover officer. He was arrested and taken to the station.
