At approximately 0818 hours on Sunday, September 20, 2020, police responded to a train derailment at the New York City 14th Street Subway Station in Manhattan.

The investigation revealed that a 30-year-old male was seen throwing construction debris onto the northbound A-train track, which caused the first car on a subway train to derail upon entering the station.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident, and the 30-year-old male was removed to the NYPD Transit District 2 for further investigation.

The A, C, D, E, and F lines were impacted by the incident.

The following individual has been arrested.

The investigation remains ongoing.
