Darryl Chappell Foundation Emergency Grant To Afrodescendant Artists

The Darryl Chappell Foundation, a Washington, DC headquartered private nonprofit, is partnering with the Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) and the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art (MoCADA) to distribute $25,000 in grants of $1,000 emergency cash payments to 25 active artists of African descent.

The Dorothy A. Chappell Emergency Response Grant is the Foundation’s official response to the CoViD-19 Pandemic and resulting financial crisis being experienced by many artists in the Foundation’s footprint region, including New York City.

The Darryl Chappell Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on enabling aspiring artists of African descent to achieve their highest

In partnership with the Darryl Chappell Foundation, the BDC provides a one-time grant of $1,000 financial assistance to the following 10 artists:

Nana Kofi Acquah | Fawaz Oyedeji | Albany Andaluz | Emily Sanchez | Koral Carballo | Dakota Santiago | Elijah Ndoumbe | Shakkà Smith | Esther Nsapu | Mayeli Villalba

The other 15 artists were selected by the Museum of Contemporary African Diaspora Art:
