Darrius Saunders, 27, Arrested For The Murder Of Kayron Wilson, 33

On Monday, May 10, 2021, at approximately 0007 hours, police responded to a pick up job of a male, shot at Vernon Boulevard and 41st Avenue, within the confines of the 114th Precinct in Queens.

Police observed a 33-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the chest.

EMS also responded and transported the male to Cornell Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation determined that the male was sitting in the front seat passenger of a vehicle, stopped at the corner of 12th Street and 40th Avenue, when two unknown individuals approached the vehicle and discharged a firearm.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 27-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged on Tuesday, June 01, 2021, at 1300 hours, within the confines of the 114th Precinct.

Charges:

  • murder;
  • criminal possession of a weapon: loaded firearm.

The investigation remains ongoing.
