Cops have arrested the 52-year-old man accused of stabbing an elderly neighbor to death in a Bronx shelter, officials said.

Charles Stevens was taken into custody early Thursday and now faces murder, manslaughter, felony assault, and weapons possession charges, police said.

His arraignment was pending Thursday night. It was not immediately what led to Stevens’ arrest.

Stevens fatally plunged a knife into James Hardy, 69, inside a fourth-floor hallway at a facility on Davidson Avenue in Morris Heights at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The day before the killing, Stevens was in a Bronx court on charges alleging he attacked a 79-year-old neighbor in the same facility on December 24, 2014, sources said. He was armed with a sword encased in a wooden sheath at the time, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his face and knee, sources said.

Bronx Criminal Court Judge Marc Whiten released Stevens on his own recognizance in that case when he could not post bail, according to court records.
