On Monday, September 14, 2020, the office of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., in collaboration with BronxNet, will air their “9/11 Day of Remembrance” program commemorating the families, friends and Bronx neighbors who perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Originally slated to take place on Lou Gehrig Plaza, the event was cancelled due to the gathering restrictions caused by the CoViD-19 pandemic. In its place, BronxNet will air programming hosted by Bronx Borough President Diaz, Jr. honoring Bronxites who lost their lives during the attacks of that fateful day.

“While we cannot gather together and honor our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers, our family members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, we take a moment to remember those Bronxites we lost and to reflect on the meaning of this day,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. “Though we are doing things differently this year, as we have done in the past and will continue to do in the future, we will continue to come together to remember those we lost on 9/11 and to share with one another the feelings and emotions that are brought to the surface during this commemoration.”

“Through decades of public service BronxNet documents and disseminates our communities standing up and coming together,” said BronxNet Executive Director Michael Max Knobbe. “We partner with Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. to present this Day of Remembrance retrospective, and through our collective crises, we never forget.”

The “9/11 Day of Remembrance” airs on BronxNet TV (channel 67 on Optimum / channel 33 on Verizon Fios) and streaming on BronxNet.TV and @bronxnettv FB LIVE on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 01:00 p.m. and 09:30 p.m.
