As part of our ongoing service to the Bronx community, on Saturday, April 24, 2010, the women of the Bronx Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. in partnership with The Children’s Aid Society will host a Foster Care and Adoption Information Session and Panel Discussion.

We have invited several elected officials and celebrity guests to present at this event. As you may know, April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. The purpose of this event is to heighten our community’s awareness of the thousands of children currently in the foster care system that are in need of loving homes. Representatives from The Children’s Aid Society, including foster/adoptive parents as well as children will be on hand to share information on the foster care and adoption process, as well as their own personal stories as adoptive parents and foster children.

This very important event is taking place on Saturday, April 24th from 1:30-4:00pm. The event will take place at The Children’s Aid Society’s Bronx Family Center @ 1515 Southern Blvd. Bronx, NY. We have enclosed a flyer advertising the event and ask that you support our efforts by sharing it within your agency.

If you are able to attend, please RSVP to Charisse Thomas at charisse07@hotmail.com or (646) 281-7493 as soon as you can. We look forward to hearing from you.
