Tango songs will include A media luz, Por una cabeza, Balada para un loco, Hay una niña en el alba, as well as the Habanera from the opera Carmen by Bizet.

Bronx Arts Ensemble musicians include Theresa Norris, flute; Mitchell Kriegler, clarinet; Jorge Avila, violin; Veronica Salas, viola; Eliana Mendoza, cello; and Troy Rinker, bass. Zinger will play piano and conduct the instrumentalists and singers Linda Collazo, Diana Lopez and Leonardo Granados.

The site of the concert will be slightly East of the Van Cortlandt House Museum, accessible via mass transit from Broadway & 242nd street. There is also limited car parking near the Van Cortlandt Park Golf House at Van Cortlandt Park South and Bailey Avenue.

The Memorial Day Concert is sponsored by Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz through the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Additionally, in part, by public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, NYC Councilmembers Fernando Cabrera, Councilman Andrew Cohen, Vanessa L. Gibson, Rafael Salamanca, Jr., Ritchie Torres, Councilman James Vacca and NYS Council on the Arts.

The Bronx Arts Ensemble has been bringing the arts to 50,000 people in neighborhoods across Bronx since 1972, with over 50 low-cost or free concerts annually, featuring works of diverse cultures, including classical, Latin, Afro-Cuban and world music. Bronx Arts Ensemble’s arts-in-education programs have served over 100,000 students since the 1980s through multi-disciplinary teaching residencies during school hours and after-school, and also summer activities, that culminate in original auditorium programs and in-school art exhibits.
