Giving back to the schools and communities is the focus of a new volunteer program to help the students of the Harriet Tubman School in the Bronx achieve and instill excitement about attending college.

The Harriet Tubman Charter School is one of EdisonLearning’s 130 partnership schools, located in 25 states.

The students were entertained by singer/songwriter Eddie Bush, who wrote “The Power of Youth,” which is based on EdisonLearning’s eight core values.

Mr. Bush is a passionate supporter of education, and performs for students all over the country to increase their love and appreciation of music. His 9/11 anthem “The Spirit of America” was played all over the country in the weeks following 9/11, including Z100 in New York. All monies from sales of the song went directly to disaster relief. He also performed his “Thin Blue Line” before President George W. Bush and 30,000 police officers.
