Three Bronx residents were arrested on Tuesday after deputies say they attempted to fake a prescription for Oxycodone at the Rock Hill HealthMart Pharmacy.

Cherrise Means, 55, and Marion Tingman, 33, were charged with felonies while Julio Ortiz, 30, was charged with a misdemeanor. Deputies say Means attempted to pass a prescription for 150 pills but the pharmacist got suspicious when she presented a benefit card but wanted to pay in cash.

Deputies arrested the three when they returned to pick up the prescription. Detectives verified with the Helen B. Atkinson Health Center in Manhattan that the prescription was forged.

Means was charged with felony forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument. Tingman, who is accused of giving deputies a false name and had a fake Virgin Islands driver’s license, was charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument and misdemeanor false impersonation.

Means, Tingman and Ortiz were also charged with misdemeanor conspiracy. Means and Tingman were taken to the Sullivan County Jail on no bail and Ortiz was jailed on $2,500 bail.

Deputies are investigating whether the three have been involved in other prescription drug forgeries in the area.
