Police in Bronx are searching for a man who has been linked to at least five robberies, and they are hoping a caught-on-camera purse snatching will lead to an arrest.

Authorities say the suspect usually targets are usually older women and flees in a black SUV, with his crime spree beginning back on August 4, 2014. The first incident happened just after 5 a.m. in the vicinity of East 237th Street, when the suspect attacked a 23-year-old woman, removed her purse and hopped in the vehicle.

Then, on September 23, 2014, at approximately 8:20 a.m., police say a 39-year-old woman was walking on Young Avenue when the suspect removed her purse which contained credit cards, $20 in cash and an iPhone 5.

Police say he struck again around 9:30 a.m. on October 23, 2014, when a 78-year-old woman was exiting her vehicle in the vicinity of Wickham Avenue. He stole her purse, which contained $150 in cash and a checkbook.

The caught-on camera incident happened around 8:45 a.m. on October 26 and involved a 77-year-old woman, who was walking on Oneida Avenue when the suspect approached her from behind. He grabbed her purse, causing her to be pulled to the ground. She sustained injuries to her face and hands and was transported by EMS to Montefiore Hospital. The suspect made off with an iPhone and $100 in cash.
