Motorists should steer clear of the Bronx River Parkway tonight because of flooding.

Authorities have closed portions of the parkway – including all lanes where it meets the Sprain Brook Parkway and the right lane of the southbound side of the parkway around Palmar Road in Bronxville — due to flooding and expect to close more sections of the road as rain continues to fall.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Putnam, Rockland, Westchester and Fairfield counties through 10 p.m. tonight, with 1 to 2 inches of rain expected through the night.
