A group of Bronx lawmakers want sex offenders out of city shelters.

State Sen. Jeff Klein was joined Saturday by Assemblymen Mike Benedetto and Mark Gjonaj outside a hot sheets motel-turned family homeless shelter where a convicted predator was recently housed.

A study by Klein’s office revealed that nine high-level sex offenders are living in family shelters across the borough.

That is an increase from the three found in a 2015 study.

The level two and three registered offenders were all convicted of sexual abuse, sodomy or rape. Their victims ranged in age from 6 to 15.

“It’s unthinkable that the same sexual predators are able to coexist with the vulnerable children living inside the city’s family shelters,” Klein said.

The registered offender who was living at the Crystal Family Residence in Ferry Point was booted Thursday.

Klein, whose district includes the site, has fought for legislation that would bar sex offenders from living in shelters with women and children.

The senator’s office is currently working on a citywide study to determine how many sex offenders are residing in family shelters across all five boroughs.

“It is hard to believe that the city still hasn’t got their act together on this matter,” Benedetto said. “Children are being placed at risk.”
