A Bronx woman was charged with the murder in the death of her five-year old son, as police investigated on Sunday the separate death of another child in the borough.
Kim Crawford, 21, was charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of five-year-old Jamar Johnson.
Police found the boy unconscious and unresponsive on Friday after receiving a 911 call, which sources say came from Crawford herself.
He was pronounced dead at Montefiore Hospital, and the medical examiner later ruled his death a homicide.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the death of a three-year-old girl in Mott Haven continued Sunday.
Officers answering a call of a baby in cardiac arrest inside 685 East 140th Street on Saturday morning found Anita Ortiz unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The medical examiner was working Sunday to figure out the cause of death.
Sources said Anita and a five-year-old boy were being watched by the boyfriend of Anita’s mother, who was out of town.
