The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) will celebrate the launch of the Bronx Memoir Project Volume IV Anthology together with our community of writers.

We will gather to share the rich narratives that our collaborators have poured into this volume. Built upon the life stories of its participants, the BMP Anthology is not just a product of BCA, but of the Bronx as a whole.

Save the date, June 22, 2020, so you can meet the writers and stay tuned for more information.

We thank the 113 participants, 43 Anthology contributors, 11 teaching artists, and Project Coordinator Crystal Valentine for the success of this year’s program We also thank Poe Park Visitor Center, BronxArtSpace, and the NYPL branches of Kingsbridge and Mott Haven for generously hosting the workshops.

This meaningful program is made possible in part with support from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

About Bronx Council On The Arts

Founded by visionary community leaders in 1962, the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) is dedicated to advancing cultural equity in Bronx. From creative placemaking and arts advocacy to the provision of services for artists and arts organizations, as well as programming for children and seniors, BCA was the first organization in Bronx to focus equally on supporting local artists, serving the community, and catalyzing relationships between the two.

Since its founding, BCA has focused on the work of underrepresented groups, especially artists of color, women, and members of the LGBTQ community. We provide direct services to over 1,000 artists and 250 community-based arts groups each year, and thanks to our granting programs, we are able to touch the lives of over thousands of audience members.
