A Bronx man died after he lost control of his SUV just one block from his home and crashed into four vehicles stopped at a traffic light, cops said.

Alexander Johnson, 66, was driving a 2004 GMC Envoy up University Avenu in Morris Heights when he suddenly shot through the intersection at W. Tremont Avenue and slammed into a line of stopped vehicles shortly before noon on Monday, police said.

Johnson, who lived nearby on Harrison Avenue, was rushed to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he died.

It was not immediately clear what caused Johnson to lose control of his vehicle. Police were still investigating the crash on Tuesday.
