Authorities say a New York City man has been arraigned on a weapons charge and other offenses in a September incident that led to an officer-involved shooting in Ware.
The Northwestern District Attorney’s office says 30-year-old Sajid Dacres of Bronx was ordered held on $100,000 bail Monday.
Dacres was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for police.
Authorities say he was driving a vehicle that was pulled over by two Ware police officers investigating possible credit card fraud at a local pharmacy on September 23, 2014. They said he tried to flee, striking Officer Aaron DeSantis, who fired twice and injured Dacres.
State police said an investigation determined DeSantis’ use of force was justified.
