A Bronx cop, Derrick Viruet, suffered minor injuries when he was shot in the neck with a BB gun Wednesday afternoon, police sources said.

The suspected gunman, John Ferriera, 21, with two outstanding warrants, was arrested a short time later. Ferreira was charged with attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Police were responding to a report that someone was firing a BB gun from a 7th floor window at 2025 Seward Avenue in Soundview, at about 12:10 p.m., sources said.

When officers arrived they learned that a construction worker and a woman had been shot by the suspect.

As one officer was taking a report from the woman, the suspect fired again, grazing the back of the 26-year-old officer’s neck.

The cop, assigned to the 43rd Precinct, was taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment.

Other officers took the suspect into custody. A police source said warrants were issued for him after he failed to appear in court on a marijuana charge and a weapons charge.
