Authorities have seized 12 kilograms of heroin valued at $8 million in a New York City bust.

The Drug Enforcement Administration say investigators also arrested three men in the Wednesday evening seizure.

Authorities say that during a surveillance operation in Bronx, investigators from the DEA’s New York Drug Enforcement Task Force observed three men enter a car carrying a down bag. The agents pulled the car over and discovered another bag with $130,000. The agents arrested the men and obtained a search warrant for a Bronx apartment.

They say in the apartment agents discovered about 24 pounds of heroin and wholesale processing equipment.

Carlos Castillo, Bladimar Ramirez-Ramirez and Adalberto Cotts-Perez were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree. They were awaiting arraignment Thursday.
