Bronx 5-Alarm Fire

A smoky 5-alarm fire in Bronx that could be seen for miles has been brought under control.

The fire department says 10 firefighters were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. A pedestrian was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out at 6:16 a.m. Thursday at 685 E. 225th Street near the Wakefield train station. It went to a fourth alarm minutes later, at 6:28 a.m. The blaze was brought under control at 9:46 a.m.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
