Law enforcement officials in the Binghamton area say they have launched a homicide investigation after a Bronx man’s body was found on a wooded property outside the city.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says it is treating the case as a suspected homicide. They identified the victim as 27-year-old Daniel Martinez.
Sheriff David Harder tells Binghamton media outlets that his body was discovered Sunday morning off Wilson Hill Road in the town of Binghamton, just north of Binghamton.
Harder released little information Monday about the killing or Martinez, who he said was visiting in the area.
