Anthony Badia Passes At 90

Badia was born June 15, 1923, to John and Giovannina Anzalone Badia in Bronx where he was raised and educated.

He was a machinist at Accessory Specialities Inc. in Yonkers from 1973 until his retirement in 2003. He served his in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a seaman and was stationed in Europe and Asia. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers.

Badia is survived by his son, John Della Badia (Rita) of Eastchester; daughters, Giovanna Badia of Seattle and Donna Lapera (Ron) of Delaware; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes (nee Ucci); brother, Mario Della Badia; and sister, Gilda DeFede.

Calling hours are Friday, April 4, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 in St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
