New York City was built on the backs of working-class New Yorkers; people like my mother, Dorothy Mae Adams, a single mother who worked multiple jobs to support my five siblings and myself. She sacrificed everything for us, and I know that there are thousands of New Yorkers doing the same today in our city for their families.

Those are the people we have been fighting for since day one of this administration. We’ve been clear that our mission has been to deliver those working-class New Yorkers a city that protects public safety, revitalizes the economy, and is more livable.

We’ve made our city safer, created 270,000 private-sector jobs, set a first-of-its-kind minimum wage for deliveristas, and worked with our brothers and sisters in labor to get them the pay and benefits they deserve.

We have broken affordable housing records — financing the most affordable homes in city history and connecting more New Yorkers to affordable homes than any other year in our city’s history.

We drove down the cost of childcare for working parents, increased public school enrollment, boosted test scores, and revolutionized reading in our classrooms.

Jobs are up, crime is down, and our streets are cleaner, but we know the hustle is still real for so many across our city. That is why we are fighting to put money back into New Yorkers’ pockets — money they have earned and need to support their families.

Following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe vs. Wade on June 24, 2022, President and Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals, Mitchell Katz, MD, stated, “Here in New York City, Health + Hospitals will continue to provide safe, legal, accessible abortion services to all who make this deeply personal choice.”

In October 2023, the NYC Health + Hospitals system launched a new approach to abortion care through telehealth visits. During a press conference, New York City (NYC) Mayor Eric Adams highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing that the NYC Health Department is pioneering by allowing individuals seeking abortion care to consult licensed professionals via video or phone, rather than requiring in-person visits. Mayor Adams emphasized, “Tough decisions are made in the comfort of your environment and home, and if you are clinically eligible, that provider will be able to prescribe abortion medication that will be delivered to your New York City address within days.” This service has been available seven days a week since.

On Friday, February 2, 2024, NYC Health + Hospitals provided an update on its telehealth abortion care, facilitated through the health system’s Virtual ExpressCare…

Mario D’Agostino, who passed away June 14, 2020, was a true leader in his community in the Bronx and left his mark on the neighborhood and everyone, who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mario was an honorable man, who changed people’s lives with his beautiful mind, strong work ethic, positive outlook on life and investing in his favorite part of New York City, the Bronx.

You should know that in one of his first public appearances, after having resigned as Governor for New York State, Andrew Cuomo will be visiting the South Bronx. His visit to the Bronx is to meet with Members of “The New York Hispanic Clergy Organization”, which I preside over.

As you know, last summer Governor Cuomo resigned, when he was accused and practically abandoned by all his friends, politicians, and community groups, whom he had helped in the past. These so-called friends, and groups that were all too happy to kiss his ring, joined the “cancel culture” environment, that plaques us all, without due process, they washed their hands with a dismissive attitude, sending the message “Crucify him, crucify him”.

Several courts and judges have dismissed the allegations of “sexual harassment” against Governor Cuomo. With this episode behind him, Governor Cuomo has begun to visit and make public appearances by visiting different faith-based organizations and community groups.

It is very important for you to know that Governor Cuomo’s first public visit was to “God’s Battalion of Prayer Temple” in East Flatbush, Brooklyn on Sunday March 06, 2022. His next planned visit is to the “New York Hispanic Clergy Organization” in the South Bronx.

You should also know that in a recent poll, Governor Cuomo, without being a candidate nor having announced his political aspirations, has polled with just four (4) points behind Governor Kathy Hochul.

As you know, Governor Hochul was a friend and she was handpicked by Cuomo to be his Lieutenant Governor. However, she was among one of the first to throw him under the bus, in the midst of the allegations, launched against him.

I imagine that those four (4) points will evaporate very soon and Governor Hochul will have to consider asking Governor Cuomo for his support, if she wishes to be officially elected by the people to the governorship.

As President of the “New York Hispanic Clergy Organization”, I am looking forward to hosting Governor Cuomo on Thursday, March 17, 2022. We welcome him to the South…

New York City Mayor Eric Adams today highlighted recent affirmations of the city’s bond ratings based upon strong fiscal management by four internationally-recognized, independent credit rating agencies — Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings, Fitch Ratings, and Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA). Maintaining a strong bond rating is an indication of the city’s financial strength and encourages continued investment in the city’s bonds, which help support funding to build and maintain schools, streets, parks, and other critical infrastructure that spans the five boroughs.

“Moody’s, S&P, Fitch, and KBRA are all saying the same thing: this administration is making the right financial decisions today to ensure a better and stronger tomorrow for all New Yorkers,” said Mayor Adams. “Thanks to our proactive fiscal management, reductions in asylum seeker spending, and better-than-expected economic recovery, we have confronted our financial challenges and shown the world that New York City is back and open for business. While we must continue to responsibly manage our budget — and still need additional support from our partners at the state and federal level — today’s news is reason to take pride in our early decisions and make us cautiously optimistic about our financial future.”

Moody’s Investor Services was the first to reaffirm their assessment of the city’s bond rating last week, citing that their decision “reflects successful implementation of budget measures to help close budget gaps in the current and succeeding fiscal year primarily caused by the migrant crisis.” The reaffirmation also cites that the city’s “stable outlook reflects continuing economic expansion and tax revenue growth, coupled with robust financial management, which is anticipated to help mitigate budget pressures from the migrant crisis and the end of pandemic era federal aid.”
