The annual gala raises the necessary funds to continue the programming of The Brotherhood/Sister Sol organization, a Harlem-based nonprofit with a mission to empower Black and Latino young women and men and help them develop into critical thinkers and community leaders. Past honorees have included Tony-Award winning director George C. Wolfe, entrepreneur and philanthropist Christopher Gardener, actor/director and political activist Danny Glover, Cesar Perales, President & Director Counsel, Latino Justice and Amalgamated Bank President & CEO, Derrick Cephas among others.
“VOICES highlights the innovative and ground-breaking work of The Brotherhood/Sister Sol,” said Executive Director & Co-Founder, Khary Lazarre-White. “It celebrates the powerful voices of our young people. It’s an evening of celebration. We are so excited to feature and honor individuals whose achievements serve as inspiration for our members.”
