A Bronx man has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for conspiring to steal nearly $600,000 in gold and other valuables from South Asian families in Northern Virginia last year.

Dagoberto Ramirez-Soto, 28, was sentenced Friday in federal court in Alexandria, VA to 46 months in prison. Prosecutors say Ramirez-Soto and his wife and one other person were involved in the burglaries of more than 30 homes.

Ramirez-Soto had previously pleaded guilty in the case. His wife, thirty-four-year-old Melinda Marie Soto was sentenced to three years in prison for her role in the scheme.
