Police have arrested the second of a pair of Bronx suspects who allegedly stole a chain and pendant off an elderly man who was on his way to place flowers near his dead mother’s memorial photo for Mother’s Day.

The 78-year-old victim had just bought the flowers when the suspects attacked him in front of a building on East Tremont Avenue May 10, 2013.

Officers who were conducting an operation in the area observed the robbery and chased the suspects, capturing and arresting one of them, 23-year-old Charles Hackett. The other suspect got away.

Police arrested him Friday. He was identified as 23-year-old Datwan Elliot. Elliot faces robbery, assault and grand larceny charges.

Attorney information for either of the suspects wasn’t immediately available.
