You should know that this Monday, August 26th we will be celebrating a street renaming activity in memory of the late USA Airforce 2Lt. John N. Sekul.

Please join me, The East Bronx History Forum and American Legion Post #1065 for a co-naming of Newbold Avenue between Castle Hill and Havemeyer Avenue.

As the City Councilmember representing the area of Castle Hill, I was able to obtain approval from the City Council to rename the corner on the above street in memory of the late USA Airforce Heroe “2Lt. John N. Sekul Place”.

The street renaming ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a procession from 2151 Newbold Avenue to the corner of Newbold & Havemayer Avenues.

Elected officials, community leaders, and friends are all welcome and encouraged to come as we pay tribute to the late 2Lt. John N. Sekul.

I am Councilmember Rev. Rubén Díaz, Sr. and this is what you should know.
