The Los Angeles Rams were not hotly tipped to win last year’s Super Bowl, while even their excellent 23-20 comeback against the Cincinnati Bengals in the showpiece final came as a shock to punters.

We are expecting a similarly wild and unpredictable experience through Super Bowl LVII, creating a challenge for bettors in terms of who to back to claim the ultimate sporting prize.

You can read more here to identify the best sports betting sites, but in this post, we’ll offer some expert betting tips pertaining to the Championship winners and MVP markets.

Who Are the NFL Favourites?

Despite upsetting the odds and roaring back to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in a thrilling Super Bowl LVI, the LA Rams are only sixth favourites to prevail again in 2023.

In fact, they can be backed at an average money line price of +1025 to win Super Bowl LVII, behind more heavily backed sides like the Kansas City Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the fast-improving Buffalo Bills.

There’s no doubt that Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills are leading the NFL betting market at present, closely followed by a Tampa Bay Buccaneers line-up that will be led by the incomparable Tom Brady in his final season.

The Kansas Chiefs are also being widely backed at an average price of +900, although their chances of winning are being hampered somewhat by the stacked and incredibly competitive nature of the AFC West division. This will make it considerably difficult to even reach the play-offs, never mind compete for the actual Super Bowl.

In terms of picking a likely winner from these contenders, there is no doubt that the experts are leaning towards Buffalo Bills. This is despite the fact that the side has never managed to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy before, as the Bills arguably boast the strongest defence and one that has been reinforced by the return of the imposing Tre’Davious White.

White missed last years’ play-offs through injury, and his return (alongside the presence of MVP contender Allen and the incoming Von Miller) should give the team a keen competitive edge.

The Outsider Picks

Outside of the three sides we have already referenced, there are a number of teams that could spring a surprise and emerge as outside candidates to win Super Bowl LVII.

The Packers are always a dangerous side to contend with, for example, and one that always seems to reserve its best form for the business end of the NFL season. The Los Angeles Rams cannot be disregarded, either, as they retain considerable momentum after last season’s win and clearly boasts the requisite team spirit and quality to prevail.

The San Francisco 49ers are also fancied by some sportsbooks to manage a deep run in the competition in 2022/23, with their average money line price having shortened to around +1600. This offers considerable value to punters, especially with star players such as linebacker Fred Warner providing a constant and influential presence in defence.

Perhaps the best outside pick is the LA Chargers, however, which continues to play in the stunning location of Los Angeles. You can currently pick the Chargers to win the Super Bowl at an average price of +1025, with the outstanding Justin Herbert leading a squad that has improved markedly over the course of the last few years.

Undoubtedly, they would have a much shorter price if they were not competing in the competitive AFC West, where they will have to do battle with the aforementioned Kansas Chiefs if they are to achieve they are ultimate goal. You may want to back the Chargers sooner rather than later, however, as their odds are sure to shorten against the backdrop of heavy backing in the near-term.

What About Individual Player and MVP Markets?

If you want to explore individual player markets, betting on the identity of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) is one that can deliver excellent returns. A lot of new as such will be discussed within the following news section.

Historically, we know that the award is highly likely to go to a quarterback, thanks largely to the glamourous influential nature of the role. As we’ve already said, Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen is the current bookmakers’ favourite, not least because he has the opportunity to stat-pad against weaker opposition in the NFL.

However, the aforementioned Herbert and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs cannot be ruled out of contention, while the seemingly indefatigable Tom Brady always seems to be in the running despite his advancing years.

Allen is undoubtedly the favourite and most likely pick to claim the MVP award in 2022/23, but if you’re interested in backing a viable outsider, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers offers huge value at an average price of +1000, which is more than artistic to look at!

Rodgers was certainly in exceptional form last season, while the quarterback also recently spoke about enjoying an outstanding pre-season that has stood him in good stead for the 2022/23 campaign.
