Westchester Man Pleads Guilty

A Yonkers man pled guilty in to selling illegal guns and drugs in Manhattan, the Bronx and Yonkers. Juan Rivas, 21, pled to the charges of criminal possession of a firearm in the first degree and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the first degree, both felonies.

Between June and November 2010, Rivas sold 25 firearms on 16 occasions to an undercover detective. Some of the sales occurred in Manhattan with others in Yonkers and Bronx. The firearms, worth over $25,000 on the black market; 14 were sold with ammunition and two were defaced.

A co-defendant, Monica Amador, 21, of Yonkers, was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of parole on a conviction of felony sale of a firearm.

A third person, Emmanuel Agesta, 31, of Bronx, is charged with felony sale and possession of drugs. His case is pending.
