Emmanuel Tapia is a Bronx teacher at one of the biggest high schools in the borough. He is also an entrepreneur, a visionary, an educator, a mentor, a musician and a highly experienced sound engineer.
His experience is being successfully directed in a program at Bronx High School of Business via Simply Unique, where his students, not only get life training, they get music education, being continually challenged, and encouraged to perform at their BEST.
This is a program that has found a niche, and students are responding by being IN school. The attendance in his program is over 85% and the kids are staying in school for the learning opportunities.
Emmanuel has built a sound studio in the school and his students have an opportunity to learn career skills, work on creating their own music, write songs, do editing / mixing / recording songs, videos, and business presentations. They are encouraged to think outside of the box and take the entrepreneurial route within each project.
This Friday, May 31, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 01:00 p.m., the core students from the program are presenting a multi-cultural, anti-bullying, pro-love, mixed art, performance art and MORE to all of the students at Bronx High School of Business, a school that was recently accredited for being in good standing after years of adversary. Out of a total of over 100 students in the program over 60 core students are involved in the performance.
Emmanuel Tapia may be a New York City teacher, but he comes to the classroom every day to challenge his students to write their own songs, raise their own voices and find a new level of accomplishment. Every day his students are trying to raise the bar on their own education… and it is working.
