February is Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning’s (JCAL) Black History Month Celebration Series. Join us each weekend in February for exhibits, performances, film screenings, and so much more.

The event will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017, 7:00 p.m., free admission at JPAC-153 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11432.

Amba Chevannes, professor, lecturer, screen writer and playwright, has taught across the Caribbean and adjudicating playwriting festivals in Jamaica W.I. Ms. Chevannes brings her work, presented in Europe and North and South America, to JPAC. Her stories take us into the hidden spaces of our societies and invite us, through laughter and tears, to face our own humanity.
