Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.

Come join the campaign on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in celebrating a strong, unified, positive message that will help our community take a visible stand towards creating a drug free community. For the first time ever, Urban Institute of Mathematics along with Mott Hall will unite as one to promote and educate our families on being drug free. Its event you won’t want to miss! Tons of information and resources will be available to you. Assembly Benndetto, Throggs Neck Community Action Partners and Foundation for a Drug Free World will also join us in taking a stand for a drug free community.

Parents and families face one of the most difficult battles in today’s society – that of raising drug free children. Communication is one of the most powerful tools we have at our disposal in keeping our kids off drugs. Yet for some reason, it is the most feared, and is seldom used. We as parents, educators, and supportive organizations, must set the tone, set the standards, and set the societal norm. We must talk to our children on a continuing basis about the dangers of drugs, and be active participants in their lives. Together we can change the face of drug addiction in our communities.
