Edgar Gomez, MD, Medical Assistant program, Berkeley College School of Health Studies, received the Adjunct Faculty of the Year award during a dinner reception held at Battery Gardens on November 3, 2016, in Manhattan, NY.

A resident of the central section of Bronx, NY, Dr. Gomez was among 18 Berkeley College faculty members and fellow professionals who were recognized by students and colleagues for their contributions to student-centered learning in exceptional ways.

“These annual awards recognize faculty members who serve as role models in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley College students,” said Beth M. Castiglia, PhD, Provost, Berkeley College. “We know they are successful because of their love of teaching. The feedback from their students and colleagues reflect this.”

Dr. Gomez said his most memorable experience was the day a student approached him and promised to strive for more in her life because he motivated her to be better and not to settle.

Other recipients of the Adjunct Faculty of the Year awards included Domenico P. Loschiavo, Management, Larry L. Luing School of Business; Albert Muzikar, Management, Larry L. Luing School of Business; and Lori Rassas, JD, Legal Studies, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies.
