A Bronx teenager has been indicted in what police have described as a reckless shooting death of a Yonkers teenager in September as the two were showing off a gun.

Horace Allen, 17, is set to be arraigned in Westchester County Court on Wednesday, accused of killing 16-year-old Joseph Kuaffo. Yonkers police said the gun went off and a shot struck Kuaffo in the chest on September 24, 2017.

A grand jury recently charged Allen with felony counts of second-degree manslaughter, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminally negligent homicide and criminal possession of a firearm, court records show.

Allen is accused of “recklessly” causing Kuaffo’s death with a .9-mm handgun, according to a complaint filed in Yonkers City Court in September. Police said at the time that Allen fired a loaded handgun at Kuaffo inside Kuaffo’s Warburton Avenue home.

Kuaffo was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said they found a semi-automatic handgun that appeared to have been used in the shooting.

Allen fled but was arrested later that day and charged with second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held without bail at the Westchester County jail.
