Elderly Man Drowned In Bronx River

On April 13, 2019 at 1530 hours police responded to a report of an aided male inside of the Bronx Botanical Square, within the confines of the 52 Precinct in Bronx.

Upon arrival officers discovered an unidentified elderly male floating face down in the Bronx River. Emergency Service Unit personnel removed the male from the water and EMS pronounced the male deceased at the scene. There were no obvious signs of trauma and the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
