Erratic driving and making an illegal U-turn led to the arrest of a Bronx man who was a passenger in the vehicle on charges including pot possession, police said.
Alexander Scott, 28, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 12:24 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017, a Mount Olive, NJ police officer patrolling Route 46 stopped a vehicle he observed make an illegal U-turn and then fail to maintain its lane and while speaking with the driver – identified as Jimmy Vanderhall – detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, police said.
While speaking with the passenger – identified as Scott – the officer detected the odor coming from him and a search of Scott found that he was in possession of a small plastic bag containing marijuana, police said.
Vanderhall was charged with making an improper U-turn.
Scott was released pending a court appearance.
