A former employee of a cargo company that operates out of JFK Airport was arrested by Port Authority police on charges of swiping a $25,000 trailer by attaching it to his own rig.

DHL Cargo reported the empty 2006 Great Dane “swingdoor” missing late last month, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

Detectives viewed surveillance video from the area and interviewed company managers about current and former employees, Pentangelo said. They also checked the exit and entry logs.

On Wednesday, DHL called them and said the trailer, with New Jersey license plates, was spotted in Brooklyn.

Detectives found it at the corner of Linden Boulevard and Emerald Street, attached to a 2007 Freitliner Columbia truck owned by former employee Jaidatt “Steve” Mangar, 28, Pentangelo said.

The trailer and truck were seized, he said.

Investigators interviewed Mangar, of the Elmont section of the Bronx, who told them that the company’s name and vehicle identification plate had been removed, Pentangelo said.

They arrested Mangar on charges of grand larceny and possession of stolen property, he said.
