A toy gun sparked alarm at a Bronx elementary school Tuesday morning, sending both parents and students into a panic.

The incident unraveled at P.S. 4 after an staff member overheard a 12-year-old student tell another classmate he was carrying a gun.

That gun, authorities said, turned out to be a NERF toy gun.

The worker reportedly informed school officials, which led to an immediate and complete lock down of the Crotona Park school.

Hysterical parents gathered outside the building waiting for updates and were later informed it was a false alarm.

No criminal charges will be brought against the unidentified student, but he may face disciplinary action from the school.
