Bronx Small Business Community Unites To Hold Public Forum On The Future Of Small Business

Small Businesses in Bronx are facing a crisis and fighting for their survival.

As real estate speculation across NYC continues, long established businesses are in danger of being forced to close due to exorbitant rents and unfair lease terms.

To address this crisis, residents and the small business owners in the Bronx are joining together to discuss solutions to the crisis facing the Bronx small business community. This crisis has been defined by abuses and injustices occurring across the city with rent hikes forcing long established businesses to close, jobs being lost, wages cut, art and cultural institutions shuttered, and the disappearance of the major pathway for low income families to achieve social mobility.

TakeBackNYC and The Bronx Daily are sponsoring this forum to hold an honest and public debate about the merits of various proposed solutions to the small business crisis. Hosting a panel of experts in small business development and the economic impacts of inaction, the forum will explore 3 solutions currently being proposed as well as a solution already introduced as a bill in the New York City Council.
